Valine

Valine is one of the three branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), crucial for muscle protein synthesis and energy production during exercise. Unlike non-essential amino acids, valine must be obtained through diet or supplementation. It helps prevent muscle catabolism and supports endurance.

Studies show that BCAAs like valine can delay fatigue by reducing serotonin buildup in the brain during prolonged exercise. It also aids post-workout recovery by promoting nitrogen retention and tissue repair.

Excessive valine intake without balancing leucine and isoleucine may cause nausea or headaches. Optimal results come from a balanced BCAA ratio (2:1:1).

Synonyms: L-Valine, BCAA component

Benefits:

✔ Reduces exercise-induced fatigue
✔ Supports muscle growth and recovery
✔ Enhances endurance performance
✔ Preserves nitrogen balance

Sources: Meat, dairy, soy, legumes, BCAA supplements.
Notes: Best taken with other BCAAs for synergy.
